"To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."  - Elliot Erwitt

ABOUT  THE  ARTIST.

AKA. Me.

I'm Meg. Lover of art, Photography, and things that make my heart sing.

I'm married to my BFF. That's him over there in the photo. He's pretty awesome. I think I'll keep him for like, MEH, 60 or so more years?  One of the reasons for this whole photography love is him. He bought me my first DSLR when our first little dude came home and encouraged and supported anything and everything I told him I wanted to do with it. He allows me to be ME. And all the craziness that comes along with that.

Most of my days are spent feeding boys. Literally. All. The. Food. And I only have 3. What the heck?!

No for real. My family is awesome. We love spending time together, hanging out, and exploring new things. We kind of have this dream bubbling up currently about buying a travel trailer and taking off!

If I'm not taking photos or sitting at my computer editing, I'm probably reading or crafting or something artsy fartsy like that. Yep. I've been called that before.

I love Jesus. Without him I'd be a huge mess of brokenness. But even in my mess I'm good because I'm his.

That's my fam. Like I said. They're pretty cool.

The little dudes are the best kids ever. We love that we get to have them in our little family.

The blonde one loves him some karate. Beware. You may get combination 3'd. Yep. I know the lingo. (nope).

The curly one is fierce. He loves fierce and fights like a champ. And he's going to be bigger than all of us in the 4th grade.

If you come to our home you better arm yourself or be prepared to be attacked with NERF bullets. For real. And if you actually DO arm yourself they'll love you forever and ever.

They're all boy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This is Lucy.

She's the prettiest dog ever created.

No really though... aren't Golden Retrievers THE perfect dog?

The boys named her. Lucy Pevensie from Narnia. The whole thing. We just call her Lucy.

She spends a lot of time sleeping. Until people come and then OH MY LORT GOTTA GET IN THEIR FACES AND LICK THEM!

She's social. She has her own hashtag.

Literally. #lifewithlucythegolden

A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words.

I love taking photographs. Especially ones that tell my story. My family's story. The story of the world going on around me. I want my kids to remember who they are, and that identity stems from where they came from. I want them to be able to look back on our family photos and FEEL who they are and where they came from. FEEL the memories. I want them to remember their lives and their family and their friends, and me, their mom.

That's what photos do for me. They make me FEEL the memories. When I look back at our old family albums I am transported back in space and time to the actual moment happening. I know the sights, sounds, and smells. All this from a photograph.

I want my family to be able to feel their memories this way.

And I also want YOU to be able to look back on your story and feel the memories. This is what I do. I help people document their stories. Their memories. Their lives.
