"Normality is a paved road: it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow." -Vincent Van Gogh
I've been documenting our little family with my camera for a while now, but starting a couple months ago I got the awesome privilege of sharing my images with a great project called Sham of the Perfect.
I love the idea behind Sham of the Perfect:
Sham of the Perfect is an international collective of photographers who are passionate about both documentary family photography and being parents. Our intent is to tear down the sham of perfection shown in more idyllic work and present life, parenthood, families, childhood, and home as it actually is; full of flaws and full of beauty simultaneously.
Each week all of us contributors share our favorite images of our own family, and we all get to vote on the best ones to share monthly on the website. I love this part, because it helps me grow and learn while getting constructive feedback, plus we're building fun friendships over our photography. Win win!
Today, I thought I'd share with you all some of the images that I've shared lately over on Sham of the Perfect. When you're done scrolling through, go check out the website!
I love documenting our family and preserving our memories! I also REALLY love doing the same for your family!
Hit me up for more info about how to get on my calendar for your family's documentary photography session!
